The gay’s environment at that time was decidedly depressing. We were relegated to fleeting encounters in public places such as parks, at risk of assault, not only by criminals but also by those who could protect us, such as law enforcement.
Therefore, the need arose to create a protected place where bisexual and gay could, in peace, meet and have sex.
After spending a few years abroad, and in particular in Germany, we knew the Leather culture and consequently the “SexClub“. A fantastic idea that knew about freedom and that we would not have been slow to propose in Italy. So we did!
I leave you to imagine how difficult it could have been in those days, not so much to create, but to keep such a place open.
But, paradoxically, the law was ours: if the patrons are adults and consenting, it can be done.
Italy respectability was not ready and even the gay community turned up their noses. However K went ahead, and he also convinced the skeptics that it would be a conquest of freedom for all.
In fact, the success has arrived, and it is such that, in a few years, the men’s clubs, of K children, were born in Italy, almost to crown a new trend that today is in effect an integral part of the gay culture in Italy. Like Bar, Sauna and Disco, also “Cruising” becomes a category.
